What You'll Do

Develop & Maintain: Build robust back-end services in Ruby on Rails, along with engaging front-end interfaces using React (and possibly Redux or hooks).

Collaborate & Brainstorm: Work closely with designers, product managers, and other engineers to create features that solve real user needs.

Code Quality & Testing: Write clean, well-tested code (RSpec, Jest, or similar frameworks) and participate in code reviews to ensure top-notch quality.

Optimize & Scale: Pinpoint bottlenecks and optimize both server-side and client-side performance to support future growth.

Drive Best Practices: Advocate for best coding practices, proper documentation, and continuous integration/deployment strategies.

Stay Curious: Keep an eye on emerging technologies and share insights with the team to foster ongoing improvement and innovation.

What Were Looking For

Proven Rails Experience: 3+ years working with Ruby on Rails in a production environment (Active Record, RESTful APIs, relational databases).

React Expertise: Solid understanding of React (and possibly Redux or Context API), plus strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.

Hands-On Collaboration: Familiarity with Git-based workflows (branching, pull requests) and a willingness to mentor or be mentored.

Problem Solver: Ability to break complex tasks into clear, actionable steps, and a knack for debugging issues systematically.

Strong Communication: Comfortable discussing technical topics with both technical and non-technical folks, ensuring everyone is on the same page.

Nice-to-Have Skills

DevOps Know-How: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, or other cloud services to streamline deployments and scaling.

TDD Enthusiast: Experience with test-driven development and continuous integration pipelines.

UI/UX Mindset: Basic design sensibilities or experience collaborating with design teams.

Agile Mindset: Familiarity with Scrum, Kanban, or other agile methodologies.
