Our client is a US-based digital marketing agency working with law firms in competitive markets. They are seeking a Senior Developer (WordPress & Front-End) to elevate their technical foundation and deliver high-performance websites.

About the Role

This senior-level role is designed for a developer who can build sophisticated, conversion-optimized WordPress websites using a proprietary Gutenberg-based theme. You'll manage multiple projects, translate complex Figma designs into responsive experiences, and mentor junior developers while improving processes and ensuring technical excellence.

Responsibilities

Development & Implementation

  • Build high-performance law firm websites using proprietary Gutenberg-based WordPress theme
  • Manage 2–4 concurrent projects from build to post-launch edits
  • Develop custom templates and functionality
  • Translate complex Figma designs into responsive WordPress experiences
  • Handle client request tickets and troubleshoot issues
  • Execute post-development refinements for performance and satisfaction

Collaboration & Strategy

  • Partner with design, project management, account management, SEO, and social teams
  • Collaborate with developers to maintain code quality and standards
  • Own technical deliverables and proactively communicate updates

Quality, Optimization & Efficiency

  • Establish rigorous QA processes for accessibility, performance, and security
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and propose solutions
  • Enhance proprietary theme library with reusable components and new features
  • Mentor junior developers through reviews and knowledge sharing
  • Stay current with WordPress updates and modern practices
  • Champion coding standards and documentation

Requirements

  • 6+ years of WordPress and front-end development experience (agency preferred)
  • Expert-level proficiency in PHP, CSS, HTML, Bootstrap
  • High proficiency in JavaScript and jQuery
  • Deep knowledge of WordPress core concepts, hooks, filters, actions, shortcodes, and theme architecture
  • Experience with Gutenberg editor, WordPress database troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with plugins: Nitropack, Gravity Forms, ACF, Yoast SEO
  • Comfort with WP Engine hosting, backups, error logs, and domain management
  • Advanced ACF and Gravity Forms implementation
  • Ability to build custom animations and interactive elements
  • Strong Figma-to-code translation, responsive design, accessibility standards
  • Proficiency with Slack, Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, ClickUp, Zoom
  • Highly communicative, detail-oriented, proactive, and accountable

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with React or Vue.js
  • Familiarity with Webpack, npm, modern workflows
  • Server-side technologies and hosting optimization
  • CRO and data-driven design decisions
  • Automated testing and CI workflows
