Finance Manager
Salary: $2000–$2500 per month
Remote – LATAM-based candidates only
At TalentCross, we connect top LATAM talent with US-based clients who are building fast-growing teams. We are now hiring a Finance Manager for one of our US clients. This is a hands-on role where you'll own day-to-day finance and accounting operations, ensuring consistency, reducing friction, and increasing visibility for leadership.
About the Role
You'll manage bookkeeping, monthly close, cash management, forecasting, and reporting. You'll also create scalable processes and controls that keep operations smooth and transparent. This role is critical in helping leadership focus on growth while you bring structure and clarity to financial operations.
Responsibilities
Accounting & Close (Core Ownership)
- Maintain accurate monthly bookkeeping (transactions, categorization, reconciliations, documentation).
- Own the monthly close process: timelines, checklists, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Ensure clean, well-organized financial records that are easy to audit and understand.
- Manage AP/AR workflows (vendor payments, invoicing support, collections follow-ups as needed).
- Maintain supporting schedules (prepaids, accruals, deferred revenue if applicable).
Banking & Cash Management (Mercury)
- Own Mercury day-to-day: account organization, payment workflows, permissions support, documentation.
- Monitor cash position and build a simple, reliable cash cadence (weekly snapshot + monthly view).
- Improve operational hygiene: naming conventions, invoice storage, approvals, and payment notes.
- Follow up with customers on outstanding invoices.
Forecasting & Reporting (Fathom)
- Maintain and improve the company forecast in Fathom (monthly updates, assumptions, scenarios).
- Partner with leadership to define and refresh forecast inputs (revenue drivers, churn/retention assumptions, expenses, hiring plans).
- Deliver leadership-ready reporting: monthly financial summary, budget vs. actuals, runway/cash outlook, key variances.
- Help build repeatable dashboards and "finance rhythms" (weekly/monthly/quarterly reviews).
Process & Controls (Make It Scalable)
- Create lightweight systems: close calendar, approvals, documentation standards, and handoffs.
- Identify recurring bottlenecks and fix them with better workflows and clearer ownership.
- Coordinate with external partners as needed (CPA, tax preparers, payroll provider, legal).
Role Requirements
Must-Haves
- 4+ years experience in accounting/finance operations (startup or small business strongly preferred).
- Strong bookkeeping fundamentals (reconciliations, close process, AP/AR).
- Confidence owning processes end-to-end with minimal oversight.
- Experience with modern finance tools (banking platforms like Mercury a plus; forecasting tools a plus).
- Excellent written communication: ability to explain variances and financial concepts clearly.
- High attention to detail and strong follow-through.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience supporting US-based companies (especially with contractors, multi-currency, or international teams).
- Familiarity with SaaS metrics and forecasting concepts.
- Experience working with CPAs/tax partners and preparing clean packages for them.
- Comfort creating lightweight internal controls (approvals, documentation standards, audit-ready filing).
