Role Overview
This role is responsible for defining and executing the Health & Safety (H&S) strategy in Portugal, in close collaboration with operational units. Acting as a strategic partner to the business, the position ensures full compliance with legal requirements, internal standards, and ISO 45001, while promoting a strong safety culture and improving working conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Health & Safety Management
- Develop and implement the H&S strategy aligned with business and operational needs;
- Define the annual H&S activity plan and establish best practices across operations;
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to operational teams on all H&S-related matters;
- Contribute to ISO 45001 certification activities and ensure alignment with its requirements;
- Deliver internal training sessions and promote H&S awareness across the organization;
- Conduct occupational risk assessments and ensure proper mitigation measures;
- Monitor and enforce compliance with H&S legislation and internal standards;
- Investigate accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and preventive actions;
- Develop contingency and emergency response plans, including simulation/drill programs;

Define, implement, and manage PPE policies;
- Prepare and maintain all required legal and internal H&S documentation and reporting;

Manage subcontracted services related to health and safety;
- Represent the organization before relevant authorities and external entities (e.g., occupational health services, labor authorities, civil protection, fire departments, emergency services);
- Ensure effective implementation of Group-level safety and prevention initiatives;
- Oversee compliance with safety requirements when external contractors are involved.
Performance Management
- Define and track KPIs related to H&S performance, identifying deviations and improvement opportunities;
- Set objectives aligned with the company's Prevention and Safety Policy;

Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of H&S initiatives.
Audits & Compliance

Participate in external H&S audits and inspections;

Follow up on audit findings and inspections;
- Support root cause analysis and the definition of corrective action plans for identified non-conformities.
Safety, Environment & Quality
- Actively contribute to personal and team safety, ensuring compliance with all H&S rules and reporting any identified risks;
- Promote and enforce Group safety and well-being guidelines within the scope of responsibility;
- Ensure responsible use of natural resources and compliance with environmental regulations;
- Adhere to all requirements defined within the organization's management systems.
