ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following areas, the role incumbent will be directly responsible for strategizing and executing.

  1. Strategic Financial Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with CBL TJT's business goals and Group Finance policies.
  2. Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts, ensuring alignment with operational and strategic plans.
  3. Working Capital Management: Optimize working capital through effective management of receivables, payables, and inventory.
  4. Financial Reporting & Analysis: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and performance dashboards.
  5. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to local and group financial regulations, tax laws, and internal controls. Identify and mitigate financial risks.
  6. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders,        including auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies, to ensure smooth financial operations.
  7. Support for Strategic Initiatives: Provide financial insights and analysis to support business decisions, investments, and acquisitions.
  8. Team Leadership & Development: Guide and develop the finance team to build capabilities and ensure high performance.

Following areas the role incumbent will provide support to develop the team.

  1. Functional Coordination with Group Finance : Execute finance strategies and initiatives as guided by Group Finance in Sri Lanka, ensuring consistency and compliance.
  2. Training & Capacity Building : Identify skill gaps and implement training programs to enhance technical and analytical competencies of finance team members.
  3. Mentorship & Succession Planning : Foster a culture of continuous learning and mentorship, and support succession planning to ensure long-term team sustainability.

ACCOUNTABILITY: (primary deliverables of role; it's scope; impact on strategy/ policy /business / people relationships)

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reports in line with Group standards.
  • Uphold strong internal controls and ensure compliance with local regulations and Group Finance policies.
  • Coordinate and deliver annual budgets and periodic forecasts that support strategic and operational goals.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, receivables, payables, and inventory to ensure optimal working capital levels.
  • Oversee banking relationships, loan facilities, and treasury operations to ensure liquidity and cost efficiency.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions, investments, and acquisitions.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, systems, and reporting for greater efficiency and accuracy.

COMPLEXITIES:

  • Navigating financial regulations across different countries (e.g., Indonesia, Sri Lanka) and ensuring full compliance with local and group policies including transfer pricing accounting.
  • Aligning financial strategies and reporting with Group Finance (cross boarder accounting and financing) while managing local operational realities.
  • Foreign Exchange & Treasury Management - Managing currency risks, offshore facilities, and banking relationships across multiple geographies.
  • Post-acquisition Integration -Supporting financial integration and alignment of newly acquired entities into the groups financial framework.
  • Working Capital Optimization -Balancing liquidity needs with operational efficiency, especially in a dynamic business environment.
  • Technology & Systems Integration - Ensuring financial systems are integrated, efficient, and capable of supporting evolving business needs.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of IFRS and local GAAP applicable in Indonesia and Sri Lanka.
  • Knowledge of capital structuring, banking instruments (e.g., SBLCs, guarantees), and treasury operations.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, scenario planning, and variance analysis.
  • Expertise in managing receivables, payables, inventory, and cash flow optimization.
  • Familiarity with local tax laws, cross-border taxation, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, or other ERP platforms.
  • Knowledge of audit processes, risk management frameworks, and internal control systems.
  • Understanding of group-level financial governance, reporting structures, and consolidation practices.
  • Familiarity with loan facilities, letters of credit, SBLCs, and offshore financing mechanisms.

Education

  • Bachelors Degree (Mandatory) - In Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional Qualifications in Finance is Preferred/Highly Advantageous.
  • MBA or Masters in Finance or Accounting, especially with a focus on strategic financial management or international finance. (Preferred/Highly Advantageous)
  • Additional Certifications (Desirable) - Certifications in financial modeling, IFRS, treasury management, or internal controls.
  • Min 7 years of relevant post qualifying experience with at least 2-3 years as Manager capacity in a similar size manufacturing organization
