Physical Therapist - Job Description 

Position is to work in the brand-new Acute Rehab Unit

Under the general direction of and upon physician referral; to assess the functional needs of physically disabled patients, develop treatment goals, plan and implement appropriate treatment plans utilizing a variety of physical therapy treatment procedures.

The Physical Therapist must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served in his/her department. The individual must acquire and/or demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. He/she must be able to provide care with consideration of developmental status.


  • Objective Assessment: Utilize evidence-based methods to objectively and quantifiably assess baseline physical function, encompassing medical history, cognitive abilities, sensory-motor function, mobility, and pain management.
  • Collaborative Goal Setting: Engage in collaborative goal setting with patients, focusing on identifying functional needs and establishing realistic, measurable treatment outcome goals tailored to each individual's condition and preferences.
  • Dynamic Treatment Planning: Develop and implement dynamic treatment programs based on established outcome goals, continuously adapting interventions based on the patient's clinical response to ensure progress towards goals.
  • Consistency and Continuity: Maintain consistency and continuity in treatment delivery to enhance patient outcomes, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes optimal rehabilitation.
  • Patient-Centered Care: Prioritize patient-centered care, ensuring that treatment plans are not only effective but also respectful of individual differences and preferences, promoting empowerment and active participation in the rehabilitation process.



Candidate Profile & Requirements

Graduate from an approved PT Program by the Commission of Accreditation in Physical Therapy

Licensed  to practice PT in Idaho

Current BLS

Master's Degree Preferred
