Company Background

Our client is a well-established automotive distribution and solutions provider operating across Malaysia. They specialize in sourcing and supplying premium performance and lifestyle automotive products through a broad network of trade partners, including retailers, specialty workshops, and dealer channels.

As part of their ongoing expansion, they are seeking a Senior Sales & Marketing Manager to lead strategic sales initiatives, strengthen channel relationships, and drive market development from their base in Kota Kemuning Shah Alam.

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Sales & Channel Management

  • Develop and implement sales strategies for distributing custom alloy wheels through wheel & tyre shops.
  • Cultivate and expand trade partnerships (distributors, shop chains, independent retailers).
  • Create pricing, promotions, and incentive programs tailored to trade channel dynamics.

Marketing Leadership

  • Build brand awareness and product education among trade customers (e.g., bundled marketing support, co-branded materials).
  • Plan and execute trade promotions and local events to drive in-store engagement.
  • Identify and collaborate with influential shop owners or local "wheel influencers" to showcase company products through in-store displays, social media, or events.
  • Develop co-branded marketing materials, promotions, and localized campaigns to reinforce brand presence and product appeal at point of purchase.
  • Collaborate on digital marketing initiatives that support offline sales activities.

P&L & Financial Accountability

  • Own regional P&L: manage revenue targets, gross margin, budgets, expenses, and profitability.
  • Monitor KPIs such as sales volumes, revenue growth, channel profitability, and ROI on marketing spend.
  • Forecast sales accurately and align supply chain activities accordingly (collaborate with SCM teams).

Market Analysis & Competitive Intelligence

  • Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify opportunities, threats, and pricing dynamics.
  • Track product trends, pricing shifts, and new opportunities; adjust strategies accordingly

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor sales and marketing teams, set targets, and ensure accountability.
  • Liaise with supply chain, product, marketing, and operations to align execution.
  • Report to regional/global leadership on channel performance, trends, and P&L metrics.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum a Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or similar; MBA is a plus.
  • At least 8 years in sales/marketing within the automotive aftermarket, preferably alloy wheels or related products.
  • Proven capability in end-to-end P&L accountability, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management.
  • Deep knowledge of traditional trade channels (wheel & tyre shops).
  • Experience managing both B2B and B2B2C environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Malaysias aftermarket automotive retail ecosystem.
  • Strong connections with tyre/wheel shop owners and distributors is a major advantage.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and travel frequently.
