Senior Agriculture Engineer (Pineapple Plantation)

Company Background

We are representing our client, a reputable company in the agriculture industry, in the search for a Senior Agriculture Engineer (Pineapple Plantation) to join their team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Plan and manage pineapple production cycles (land prep, planting, nutrition, weed/pest control, forcing, harvest scheduling)
• Design/operate irrigation & fertigation systems
• Develop and execute SOPs for field operations: ridging/bedding, mulching, spacing, sucker/slip selection, nursery management, replanting
• Implement integrated pest and disease management, and corrective actions
• Lead soil and tissue testing programs; translate results into fertilizer and lime/gypsum plans; manage salinity and pH risks
• Drive mechanization and equipment management (tractors, sprayers), including maintenance schedules and operator training
• Manage field data and KPIs: survival %, plant uniformity, flowering uniformity, yield/ha, fruit size distribution, Brix, rejects, cost/ha
• Improve post-harvest field handling
• Lead and train supervisors and field teams; plan labor needs and productivity targets
• Prepare annual operational budgets and CAPEX plans (drainage, roads, buildings, equipment), and control costs

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in pineapple plantation operations, preferably in large-scale or commercial farming
• Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of pineapple crop physiology, production cycles, and yield optimization
• Solid expertise in soil and plant tissue analysis, fertilizer formulation, and soil health management (pH, salinity, lime/gypsum application)
• Practical experience in integrated pest and disease management (IPM) and implementation of corrective actions
• Hands-on exposure to mechanization and farm equipment management, including maintenance planning and operator training
