Job Title: Audit Manager - Ports & Customs (Emirati)

Job Purpose:

To prepare the audit plan, manage, and execute audit engagements in the Industry Department, supporting the development of strategies and operational plans. Assist in developing Operations, Compliance, and Performance Audit strategies for the Industry Department, continuously monitoring effectiveness to align with long-term objectives.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Prepare comprehensive audit programs for the audit assignments
  • Contribute to the development of the industry strategy and operational plans in line with Head of Sector guidance.
  • Contribute to Leading and overseeing the management and execution of audits of targeted Auditees in assessing alignment of their related services with their strategic plans and Government priorities. Lead overall industry related expertise, capability building development, and research efforts.
  • Present audit reports and dissemination of key report findings of the Operations, Compliance and Performance Audit activities as well as possible short and longer term risks at the conclusion of each audit
  • Contribute to leading and directing the effective management of follow up, monitoring of and reporting progress on the corrective actions to be undertaken by the Auditees in close collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Establish strategic business partnerships and lead a number of engagements. Manage relevant stakeholders and strive to optimize engagement outcomes.
  • Resolve audit issues and escalate complex issues to appropriate teams for analysis.
  • Lead the development of industry related research, thought leadership, and generation of market insights.
  • Evaluate impact on the overall audit plan arising from changes in regulations and standards.
  • Keep abreast of local and international laws and regulations that can affect the organizations' compliance and risk management environments, and propose ways to stay compliant.
  • Provide guidance to team members' work for timeliness, accuracy and compliance. Drive the development of the capabilities of the audit team where necessary through the provision of coaching, formal training, and the development of skills.
  • Ensure to develop expertise in sectorial or technical area of responsibility.
  • Continuously develop expertise in sectorial or technical area of responsibility in order to be able to undertake more complex audits.
  • Assist in leading the execution of operational, compliance, and performance audits as per the TOR.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • Expertise in auditing customs operations and internal audit experience in customs
  • Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIA, CA) preferred.
  • Proven experience in audit management, preferably in the industry sector.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
