Finance Director, DR Congo

About the role
Our client, an established mining and resources group, is hiring a Finance Director to lead the finance function of its DR Congo operations. You will own financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, tax and statutory compliance, and act as the main finance partner to the country leadership and group head office.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the full finance function for the DR Congo entity, including accounting, treasury, tax, and reporting teams.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under IFRS and deliver them to group finance on schedule.
- Build and manage the annual budget, forecasts, and capital expenditure plans for mining operations.
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and funding requirements for the site.
- Ensure compliance with DRC tax, mining royalty, customs, and statutory requirements, and manage relationships with local authorities and auditors.
- Strengthen internal controls, risk management, and audit readiness.
- Advise the leadership team on costs, margins, and investment decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, plus a professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Minimum 12 years of finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role.
- Proven experience in the mining industry. This is essential.
- Relevant experience in the Africa region or DR Congo.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and group reporting.
- Working knowledge of French is an advantage.
- Willingness to be based in DR Congo, with regular site presence.
