Key Responsibilities

Audit Planning & Execution

  • Develop and execute risk-based IT audit plans aligned with Sharia compliance principles.
  • Evaluate IT systems, applications, and infrastructure to ensure they meet Islamic financial regulations and organizational policies.
  • Identify gaps in Sharia-compliant IT systems and recommend corrective actions.

Sharia Compliance Assessment

  • Collaborate with the Sharia governance team to review IT frameworks for adherence to Islamic guidelines.
  • Assess the implementation of Sharia-compliant financial systems, including transactions, reporting, and automation.
  • Evaluate IT controls for compliance with Sharia policies and standards.

Risk Assessment & Mitigation

  • Identify IT risks related to Sharia governance and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of IT processes to ensure they support Sharia-compliant operations.

Audit Reporting

  • Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting findings, risks, and recommendations for Sharia compliance.
  • Present audit results to senior management and the Sharia board.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with IT teams, internal auditors, and Sharia governance committees.
  • Provide advisory support to IT projects to ensure alignment with Sharia requirements.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated on emerging IT audit practices, Sharia regulations, and technological advancements.
  • Enhance audit methodologies to include modern technologies like cloud systems, blockchain, and AI under Sharia principles.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CISA, CIA, or CISM are mandatory.
  • Certification in Islamic Finance (e.g., AAOIFI, CIPA) is a strong advantage.
  • 7+ years of experience in IT audit, with at least 3 years in Sharia-compliant financial environments.
  • Strong understanding of Islamic banking principles, Sharia governance, and financial systems.
