Job Description

Core Duties & Responsibilities

Performance Management

  • Provide holistic measurement (KPIs) to evaluate entity's performance from financial, operation, and risk point of view, and where necessary evolve strategies & initiatives to enhance performance
  • Carry out analysis and interpretation regularly for business performance, strengths & weaknesses, financial reporting, budget variances, and competitive landscape in order to find ways to reduce the costs and identify areas for future development & improvement of ROI
  • Support in developing & implementing a performance measurement system using Balanced Scorecard objectives and KPIs. Guide section heads on SMART targets for annual objectives and create awareness sessions on the performance management system. Review, consolidate, analyze, and report on performance appraisals

Business Transformation

  • Support in leading Finance transformation & innovation strategy in collaboration with functional head to ensure appropriate metrics are in place to measure the performance and progress towards strategic goals in line with overall vision, and its current & long-term objectives
  • Implement and drive various cost reduction, revenue improvement and other transformation initiatives along with the business through the financial analysis or strategic benchmarking to help business improve their KPI's year on year and/or against budget
  • Evaluate business proposals, conduct cost-benefit analyses, assess risks, and provide strategic insights to help guide organizational decision-making
  • Advise on market research, positioning, competitor trends, and benchmarking data to maximize profits, identify investment opportunities, improve operating results, and implement best practices at entity

Project Management

  • Liaising with stakeholders and assist in managing all commercial aspects pertaining to the onsite through engagement and building relationships with entity's partners & departments towards the successful delivery of entity agenda
  • To drive key finance improvement projects and interface with business units to understand their financial needs and drive improvements
  • Collaborate with various business units to gain insights into their financial requirements and identify opportunities for enhancing financial performance

Compliance

  • To analyze and report on compliance and recommend action to rectify where appropriate
  • To monitor the access matrix in banks and IT systems to ensure compliance with Delegation of Authority and to adhere to relevant policies and procedures
  • To handle any other matters relating to compliance

Customer Centricity

  • To ensure customer satisfaction by proactively addressing business unit concerns/issues and requests
  • To drive projects/initiatives which will streamline/enhance the Finance service capability to the business units
  • Engage with business units on a periodic basis to get feedback on the quality of Finance services delivery, understand and address challenges, if any

ERM

  • Assist in the activities relating to Enterprise Risk Management implementation including preparation of all reporting to Board and Management
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to obtain status updated on periodic basis and ensure the agreed mitigation action plans are implemented according to timelines, highlight any issues on delay and gaps on implementation.

Operating Environment

  • Mostly office-based job
  • Meetings with business units and customers are required to ensure that all the business needs are accomplished.
  • Update the senior management on the critical issues and challenges through weekly meetings
  • Traveling is required

Formal Education

Bachelors degree in accounting or finance as the major subject MBA in Finance or Accounting preferred

Work Experience

A minimum requirement of experience is 5 years post qualification experience.

Demonstrated experience using Microsoft applications and other systems

  • Ability to understand and use financial planning and accounting systems
  • Proven experience working under tight deadlines and prioritizing workload accordingly
