We are seeking a highly motivated and professional UAE National to join our leadership team as an Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Internal Control. This role is critical for ensuring the integrity of our operations, strengthening our governance framework, and supporting the strategic objectives of our organization in Abu Dhabi.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the organization's internal control framework, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct risk-based control assessments and audits across all business functions, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with internal policies, UAE federal laws, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports on control findings, governance issues, and compliance status to senior management and committee members.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to department heads, promoting a culture of risk management, ethics, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee and guide junior team members within the internal control function.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the real estate or construction sector, with a strong understanding of its project lifecycle and associated risks.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Nationality: UAE National (Emirati)
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification: A relevant professional certification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in internal control, internal audit, or risk management.
  • Residency: Abu Dhabi residency is highly preferred.
  • Skills:

    • In-depth knowledge of internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO) and corporate governance principles.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
    • High level of integrity and professional ethics.
