ECE Manager MARC Early Learning Centre
We are a thriving, community-based, not-for-profit Centre seeking an experienced and confident leader to step into the role of Manager/Head Teacher as our current leader retires.
Located on the grounds of a Crown Research Institute, we provide quality early childhood education for employees families and the local community. Our Centre is divided into two age groups, each led by a Head Teacher in each room, and follows a Gerber- and Pikler-inspired philosophy that fosters a safe, inclusive, and play-based learning environment. We have an expansive outdoor space and provide home-cooked meals.
About the role:
As Centre Manager/Head Teacher, you will oversee daily operations, lead and mentor a team of Kaiako, and uphold high teaching standards. You will be supported by a parent-led Board and a professional accountant, you will play a key role in fostering strong relationships with staff and the community while ensuring quality care and education for our tamariki. This is a full-time, permanent role.

Supportive training and a smooth handover
About you:
Proven ECE leadership skills with a strong desire to support, develop and coach others
At least five years experience in maintaining a high quality ECE service with a holistic approach.
A current New Zealand practicing certificate and relevant ECE qualifications
Strong understanding of licensing criteria, curriculum, ECE Regulations, ERO and MOE requirements.
Commitment to Te Whāriki and to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
You hold yourself to a high professional standard. Especially with communication and relationship building amongst staff, whanau, and the community.
Positive attitude with a solution-based approach
A confident leader who can provide excellent mentoring and role modelling of exemplary teaching practice.
