About the Role:

The Staff Accountant is a detail-oriented accounting professional responsible for managing core accounting operations while overseeing financial administration, process improvement, and compliance. This role blends traditional staff accountant duties, including general ledger management, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and month-end close, with accounting operations oversight and workflow optimization. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Execute month-end and year-end close processes, including financial statement preparation and variance analysis.
  • Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment application, collections, and vendor management.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts to ensure financial accuracy and data integrity.
  • Support payroll processing, expense reporting, and employee reimbursements in compliance with accounting policies.
  • Assist with financial reporting, audit preparation, and coordination with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Maintain and improve accounting workflows, standard operating procedures, and internal documentation.
  • Oversee accounting software administration, system updates, and financial data accuracy within ERP or accounting systems.
  • Manage vendor onboarding processes, including W-9 collection and documentation compliance.
  • Monitor internal controls, recommend process improvements, and support budgeting and forecasting administration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent accounting experience.
  • Proven experience in accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, or financial administrative support.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and financial data management.
  • Experience supporting month-end close, audit preparation, and internal controls compliance.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in an in-office accounting environment.
