About the Role
A nationally recognized litigation firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate with 3+ years of experience to join its San Francisco office. This is an opportunity to work within a sophisticated, fast-paced practice handling complex civil litigation matters across multiple industries.
The ideal candidate is looking to take ownership of cases, gain direct client exposure, and play a meaningful role in litigation strategy from early case development through trial. This role offers hands-on responsibility, strong mentorship, and the ability to work on high-level matters in both state and federal courts.
Responsibilities

Handle all phases of civil litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.

Draft and argue substantive motions in state and federal court.

Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda and briefs.

Take and defend depositions.

Draft and respond to written discovery.

Assist with trial preparation and trial support.

Communicate directly with clients regarding case strategy and developments.

Appear at court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and site inspections as needed.

Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on litigation strategy and case management.
Qualifications

3+ years of civil litigation experience.

Experience in one or more of the following areas: general liability, professional liability, products liability, employment litigation, construction litigation, real estate disputes, HOA matters, mass torts, or class actions.

Strong legal research and writing skills.

Experience in both state and federal court preferred.

Excellent oral advocacy and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple matters in a deadline-driven environment.

Active membership in the California State Bar required.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $150,000 – $210,000, commensurate with experience.
