About the Role
The Quality Engineer position is a key contributor to maintaining and improving manufacturing quality systems in a metal fabrication environment. This role supports process improvement, ensures compliance with ISO standards, and drives root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Located in Rothschild, WI, this position offers hands-on involvement with quality control processes, supplier quality, and production support. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality assurance protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements
  • Monitor manufacturing processes and perform inspections to identify defects or deviations
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action investigations using tools such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys
  • Analyze quality data and generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and supply chain to resolve quality-related issues
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and coordinating activities
  • Manage non-conformance reports and follow up with suppliers or internal teams for resolution
  • Maintain calibration schedules and ensure accuracy of measurement tools and equipment
  • Conduct process capability studies and implement continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and ISO 9001 standards
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and measurement system analysis (MSA)
  • Familiarity with corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality software tools such as Minitab

Desired Qualifications:

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) through ASQ
  • Experience with metal fabrication or welding operations
  • Familiarity with GD&T and precision measurement equipment
  • Knowledge of APQP, FMEA, and PPAP processes
  • Experience with ERP systems and quality modules
