About the Role
A manufacturing and engineering company is seeking a Quality, Environment, Health & Safety (QEHS) Manager with 7 to 10 years of experience and a proven background in ISO implementation. This hybrid-remote position is based in Troy, Ohio, with flexibility to recruit talent from surrounding cities including Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, and Toledo. The ideal candidate will oversee QEHS operations, lead ISO certification efforts, and drive continuous improvement in product quality and workplace safety. This is a mid-level leadership role offering a base salary of $90,000 plus performance-based bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all QEHS initiatives, programs, and compliance efforts

  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies, procedures, and strategic quality goals

  • Own, audit, and continuously improve the integrated management system for quality, environment, and occupational health and safety

  • Maintain and expand ISO certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)

  • Plan and direct the activities of the quality department

  • Lead customer audits and manage follow-up activities

  • Support cost-reduction initiatives through cross-functional collaboration

  • Take ownership of quality deliverables in product development and operational projects

  • Monitor, report, and act on key quality and safety performance indicators (KPIs)

  • Lead supplier development and ensure quality assurance across vendor relationships

  • Ensure quality principles are aligned with lean manufacturing and Toyota Production System methodologies

  • Engage consultants as needed to support improvement efforts

  • Represent the QEHS department in internal meetings and cross-functional teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, quality management, or a related technical field

  • 7 to 10 years of experience in quality management or QEHS roles

  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards

  • Proven experience in ISO implementation and audit processes

  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional quality improvement projects

  • Experience in supplier quality assurance and customer-facing quality roles

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to lead audits, analyze data, and report on KPI metrics

Desired Qualifications

  • Background in lean manufacturing and Toyota Production System practices

  • Experience conducting internal audits for quality, environmental, and safety compliance

  • Familiarity with QMB, Dantutso, SCP, or similar quality systems

  • Project management experience in multi-site or international environments

  • Hands-on experience in occupational health and safety compliance

  • Ability to work in hybrid remote settings while managing on-site operations
