About the Role
The Production Scheduler & Supply Planner plays a critical role in managing and streamlining manufacturing operations in a contract nutraceutical production facility. This position ensures that all aspects of production planning, material coordination, and workflow management are aligned to meet delivery timelines and customer requirements. By leveraging scheduling software, production data, and cross-functional communication, the Production Scheduler helps maintain operational efficiency, optimize resource utilization, and support company growth in a fast-paced, quality-focused manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and adjust detailed daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for manufacturing lines based on demand forecasts and capacity
  • Collaborate closely with procurement, inventory control, quality assurance, operations, and logistics teams to align schedules with available resources and material supply
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and packaging supplies to ensure uninterrupted production flow
  • Track and report on production metrics, including throughput, lead times, capacity utilization, and schedule adherence
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, and delays using data-driven decision-making
  • Communicate production changes, delays, or issues promptly and clearly to all relevant stakeholders
  • Support cross-departmental coordination and planning meetings to maintain alignment across supply chain, manufacturing, and customer service teams
  • Contribute to process improvements by analyzing production workflow and recommending adjustments to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in production scheduling, supply planning, or operations coordination within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in using ERP, MRP, and scheduling software such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics
  • Solid understanding of supply chain principles, inventory control, and production flow in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to balance short-term needs and long-term planning
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to facilitate coordination between departments
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in the nutraceutical, dietary supplement, pharmaceutical, or food production industries
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and HACCP guidelines
  • Bachelors degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, operations management, or a related discipline
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma certification
  • Experience working in a contract manufacturing organization (CMO) or similar production setting
