We are building the control center for U.S. duty drawback, a $10B per year opportunity hiding in plain sight. Using AI and automation, we help retailers, manufacturers, and wholesalers recover tariffs paid on imported goods when those goods are later exported, returned, or destroyed. Most companies do not even realize they are eligible. We ensure no dollar is left behind.

We are well capitalized and moving fast. We are hiring multiple Senior and Staff level engineers to take meaningful ownership of our product and infrastructure.

About the Role

This is not a feature factory role.

As a Senior or Staff Software Engineer, you will own high impact product and platform initiatives end to end. You will design and ship production systems that combine complex regulatory logic, large scale data workflows, and AI powered automation.

You will work directly with founders and customers to turn ambiguity into shipped software. This is a high ownership, high intensity environment where your work will directly affect real businesses and real dollars.

This role is in person in San Francisco, five days per week.

What You'll Do

• Own major product initiatives end to end, from architecture and API design to backend services and frontend implementation.

• Design and build scalable backend systems that support complex compliance logic and high volume data processing.

• Develop AI powered workflows, including LLM integrations and intelligent agents that automate regulatory decision making.

• Architect systems that are reliable, observable, and production ready from day one.

• Work closely with customers to understand edge cases and turn real world pain points into durable software solutions.

• Contribute to technical roadmap decisions and long term system architecture.

• Move quickly without sacrificing quality, knowing when to iterate and when to invest in long term infrastructure.

Must Haves

• 6 or more years of professional software engineering experience.

• Experience at a top tier technology company, followed by or combined with experience at a startup.

• Strong backend fundamentals, including API design, database modeling, and distributed systems.

• Experience working with LLMs in production or strong interest in building AI agents and intelligent automation systems.

• Comfort operating in ambiguity and taking full ownership of outcomes.

• In person in San Francisco, five days per week.

Strong Pluses

• Former founder or founding engineer at an AI or high growth startup.

• Experience in supply chain, logistics, trade, fintech, or compliance heavy industries.

• Background at companies operating in global trade or logistics ecosystems.

• Experience building agentic systems, workflow automation platforms, or data intensive products.

• Experience mentoring engineers or operating at staff level with cross team technical influence.
