Senior Software Engineer

About the Role:
The Senior Software Engineer is a core technical leader responsible for owning and building critical product features for a fast growing, venture backed technology company operating at the intersection of fintech, trade compliance, and automation. This role focuses on designing and delivering end to end software solutions that simplify complex regulatory workflows through modern engineering practices and applied AI. The position is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in early stage environments, values ownership, and wants their work to have direct, real world business impact.

Responsibilities:

• Own major product features end to end, including API design, backend services, frontend user interfaces, and system integrations.

• Design and build scalable backend architectures that support complex business logic and data workflows.

• Develop intuitive, high quality frontend experiences that make complex regulatory processes feel simple and accessible.

• Collaborate directly with customers and internal stakeholders to understand requirements and rapidly translate them into shipped features.

• Contribute to system architecture decisions, technical roadmap planning, and long term platform scalability.

• Build and integrate AI and LLM powered features to automate workflows and improve accuracy and efficiency.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well tested code across the full stack.

• Help establish and evolve engineering best practices, tooling, and development culture.

Qualifications:

• Significant experience building and shipping production software at high growth startups or technology driven companies.

• Strong backend engineering experience, including API design, database modeling, and distributed systems.

• Frontend development experience with a focus on usability, performance, and polished user interfaces.

• Proficiency with modern frameworks and tools such as React, Next.js, FastAPI, SQLModel, and PostgreSQL.

• Experience working with ambiguity and taking ownership in early stage or fast moving environments.

• Strong understanding of engineering tradeoffs, knowing when to move quickly and when to invest in long term quality.

• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to translate complex requirements into simple technical solutions.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience building or integrating AI or LLM based features into production systems.

• Background working on fintech, compliance, data heavy, or workflow automation products.

• Comfort working closely with customers and incorporating feedback into product development.

• Experience shaping engineering culture, mentoring peers, or acting as a technical lead.
