Technical Business Analyst

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Technical Business Analyst to bridge the gap between business operations, data analytics, and technology solutions. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Northeast Ohio. The Technical Business Analyst will gather technical requirements, develop SQL-based reporting solutions, build business intelligence dashboards, integrate data across software platforms, and support technology projects that improve operational performance. The ideal candidate has experience in business systems analysis, SQL, Python, Power BI, API integrations, and process improvement, with the ability to translate complex business needs into practical technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with operations, finance, IT, warehouse management, and leadership teams to gather business requirements, identify system limitations, and recommend technology-driven solutions.
• Analyze existing business processes, data workflows, operational systems, and reporting procedures to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and better decision-making.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries to extract, combine, validate, and analyze information from relational databases and enterprise software applications.
• Develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards, automated reports, performance scorecards, and data visualization solutions using Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms.
• Utilize Python or comparable scripting technologies to support data transformation, reporting automation, API integrations, and business process improvements.
• Work with ERP systems, warehouse management software, ecommerce applications, shipping platforms, and other third-party tools to improve data accessibility and reporting consistency.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications, functional requirements, reporting definitions, process documentation, and implementation plans.
• Coordinate with software developers, IT teams, external vendors, and business stakeholders to support system enhancements, application integrations, testing, and deployment.
• Investigate reporting discrepancies, troubleshoot data issues, perform system and report validation, and recommend corrective actions to improve data reliability.
• Support multiple technology and reporting initiatives simultaneously, including requirements gathering, project tracking, user acceptance testing, technical documentation, and post-implementation support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 2 to 3 years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, IT Analyst, or a related technical role.
• Strong SQL skills, including writing queries, joining tables, extracting datasets, troubleshooting reporting issues, and working with relational databases.
• Experience with Python or another scripting language for data analysis, process automation, reporting development, or software integrations.
• Hands-on experience developing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar business intelligence platforms.
• Understanding of REST APIs, database integrations, enterprise software applications, and extracting data from multiple systems.
• Experience gathering business requirements, documenting functional specifications, analyzing workflows, and supporting technical implementations.
• Knowledge of data validation, reporting accuracy, business process mapping, systems analysis, and technical troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, explain technical concepts, and translate operational requirements into technical solutions.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience performing business systems analysis within manufacturing, ecommerce, logistics, inventory management, warehousing, distribution, or third-party fulfillment operations.
• Familiarity with ERP software, warehouse management systems, order management platforms, and enterprise application integrations.
• Experience with cloud-based databases and analytics platforms such as Google BigQuery, Microsoft Azure, or AWS.
• Knowledge of Shopify, WooCommerce, ecommerce APIs, inventory synchronization, and order fulfillment reporting.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, user acceptance testing (UAT), process mapping, Jira, technical requirements documentation, or software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, Power Automate, Power Apps, low-code platforms, and business process automation solutions.
