About the Role
The Senior Data Engineer will play a key role in supporting our client's Data Team by building and optimizing data infrastructure, developing scalable ETL pipelines, and enhancing data warehousing capabilities. This role will drive automation, ensure efficient data flow, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. This position is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and reports to the Director of Data Analytics and Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Support existing data warehouse architecture in AWS, including performance monitoring and tuning (Redshift).
- Maintain and troubleshoot data syncing in AWS DMS, AWS zero-ETL, Boomi, and Fivetran.
- Design data models that support multiple data analysis use cases.
- Implement data transformations using dbt with the metrics needed to visualize in dashboards, including AWS QuickSight and Tableau.
- Work with other BI Analysts, Data Engineers, Software Engineers, and team members in product and design to solve problems collaboratively. Strong communication, collaboration, and technical expertise are required.
Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years experience working as a senior data engineer or other data centric position. Must have experience partnering directly with stakeholders to define data problems, determine strategy, define metrics, and create necessary data structures.
Technical Experience
- AWS experience required.
- Strong SQL skills (proficient with all joins, CTEs, window and aggregate functions, etc.).
- Experience in ETLs (experience with DBT, AWS DMS, Fivetran, and Boomi preferred).
- Experience in data warehouses (AWS Redshift preferred).
Soft Skills
- Strong accountability skills, including responsibility for completing work independently, raising blockers with urgency, persisting despite obstacles, and learning from past mistakes. (services a plus)
- Highly curious nature. Must be driven to solve problems and dig deep to find solutions and ensure understanding.
- Strong business acumen and ability to contribute to business objective achievement through data-driven insights. Experience working in the field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Employment Structure
- Hybrid (3 days remote & 2 days onsite) in Uttara, Dhaka | Full-time
- Salary: BDT 250,000 - 300,000
