About the Role
We are looking for a Lead Backend Engineer to lead the design, lead the team, manage the project through JIRA, development, and optimization of critical backend components our ERP. You will take ownership of the architecture and ensure that our microservices are scalable, secure, and performant. With deep expertise in .NET 8, Oracle (latest version) or PostgreSQL (latest version), and microservices, you will be responsible for leading complex problem-solving tasks and guiding junior team members in best practices and architectural decisions. Your contributions will ensure that all backend services integrate seamlessly with frontend components and database layers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of backend components for the ERP, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Database design & architecture and management.
- Contribute to project management activities in JIRA by assisting the dedicated lead; candidates with prior leadership experience or willingness to take on team coordination, task tracking, and project oversight responsibilities are highly preferred. Must be proactive in supporting the teams delivery and capable of stepping into leadership tasks when needed.
- Take ownership of the overall architecture, ensuring that microservices align with business and technical requirements.
- Mentor junior backend engineers, guiding them in architectural decisions and coding best practices.
- Solve complex backend challenges, ensuring seamless integration with frontend and database layers.
- Perform code reviews, establish coding standards, and ensure adherence to best practices across the team.
- Optimize backend services and ensure they meet both current and future requirements of the system.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend engineers, database administrators, and DevOps engineers) to deliver high-quality, integrated solutions.
- Contribute to system architecture, design patterns, and database optimization (Oracle or PostgreSQL).
- Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to improve backend performance and maintainability.
Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ of experience in backend development, with a focus on .NET 8, Oracle or PostgreSQL, and microservices.
- Proven experience in designing scalable and secure backend systems using microservices architecture.
- Strong expertise in .NET 8 and developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Solid experience in database design and optimization using Oracle or PostgreSQL.
Solid knowledge of Object Oriented Design & Practices.
Expert in both Entity Framework Core and ADO.NET.
Experience with JIRA Software.
- Ability to lead complex problem-solving tasks and make sound architectural decisions.
Experience with build automation (Jenkins).
Knowledge of integration testing.
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills, with the ability to guide junior engineers.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies is mandatory.
Familiarity with AI integrations and ERP systems is nice to have.
Employment Structure
- Onsite in Dhaka | Full-time & Contractual
- Salary: BDT 170,000 - 220,000+ (slightly higher for deserving candidates)
- Benefits: 3 Festival bonuses
- Work Week: Sunday-Thursday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM
