About the Role
The Head of Project Implementation is a senior leadership role responsible for guiding the overall strategy and execution of project delivery across the organization. This position oversees end-to-end implementation activities, including delivery oversight, governance, compliance, and customer experience. The role involves providing direction and developmental support to project-focused teams, such as business analysts, delivery managers, and project managers, ensuring alignment with organisational standards and competency frameworks.
Working closely with executive leadership and cross-functional departments, the position drives operational efficiency, fosters continuous improvement, and promotes a culture centred on quality and client value. The role requires strong strategic thinking, leadership capability, and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse business functions.
Key Responsibilities
- The role provides strategic leadership for project implementation by collaborating with senior management to define long-term plans and translate organizational goals into measurable delivery objectives. It involves regularly reviewing strategic progress, adjusting priorities in response to market conditions, and ensuring that customer satisfaction remains central to all planning and performance efforts.
- A core responsibility of the position is overseeing the full lifecycle of projects across diverse portfolios, ensuring that initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with established quality expectations. This includes setting up delivery governance structures, monitoring risks and dependencies, and evaluating performance through defined metrics that support continuous improvement in both efficiency and customer experience.

It involves managing performance, providing coaching, and fostering continuous skill development, while also building future leadership capabilities within the delivery function.

- Strong cross-functional collaboration is essential, requiring close coordination with technical, product, operational, and support teams to maintain seamless project execution. It also works with technology and infrastructure teams to enhance delivery environments and operational readiness.
Skills & Qualifications
- The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in software delivery, program management, and governance, with over 12 years of total work experience and a minimum of 7 years in senior leadership roles managing multi-regional project portfolios and significant budgets.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, or a related field, with a master's degree, such as an MBA or MPOD, strongly preferred.
- Professional certifications include PMP or equivalent (Prince2 Practitioner, PgMP), with additional credentials in governance, risk management, Agile/Scrum Master, and business analysis highly desirable.
- Demonstrate a consistent record of driving revenue growth through successful project execution and upselling within global accounts.
- Deep technical and domain expertise across the full software development lifecycle, including Agile (Scrum, SAFe, LeSS), Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies, along with hands-on knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD practices, and modern technology stacks such as Java and .NET microservices, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and container orchestration using Kubernetes.
- Highly proficient in governance and compliance frameworks, including PMI, COBIT, ITIL, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 9001, and data privacy regulations such as GDPR and PDPA.
- Experienced in managing projects across multiple time zones, cultural contexts, and regulatory environments, ensuring consistency while allowing for local adaptation.
- Excels in leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing teams across local and offshore centers.
- Adept at influencing C-suite executives and senior stakeholders, demonstrating strong negotiation skills to balance time, cost, scope, and quality.
- Communication skills are excellent, including the ability to convey complex governance and technical concepts to non-technical audiences and global clients.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale change initiatives, including methodology shifts, process overhauls, and tool implementations, with minimal disruption.
- Performance is measurable through key metrics such as timely project delivery, budget adherence, customer satisfaction, compliance with governance standards, team enablement and certification, employee engagement and retention, revenue contribution, and the implementation of process improvements, all reflecting strong leadership, technical acumen, and strategic business impact.
