Duties & Responsibilities
- Create, articulate, and communicate a clear and compelling long-term vision for the product.
- Ensure the entire team (developers, stakeholders) understands and is aligned with this vision.
- Create and Maintain: Be the sole author and owner of the Product Backlog, which is the single source of truth for all work.
- Order the items in the backlog by value, risk, and dependencies to achieve goals most efficiently.
- Continuously break down, clarify, and detail backlog items with the team to ensure they are "ready" for upcoming sprints.
- Make tactical decisions about what features to build and, just as importantly, what not to build.
- Ensure every increment of work delivered by the team delivers the highest possible value to customers and the business.
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders (clients, users, executives, marketing).
- Gather feedback, manage expectations, and communicate progress, priorities, and trade-offs clearly.
- Clarify Requirements: Be available to the team to answer questions, clarify user stories, and define acceptance criteria.
- Actively participate in Scrum events (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives).
- Validate that the work done by the Development Team meets the defined acceptance criteria and quality standards.
- Officially "accept" or "reject" the completed increment at the end of a sprint.
- Review the product increment with stakeholders at the Sprint Review and gather feedback.
- Use feedback and data to adapt the Product Backlog and future strategy accordingly.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or any relevant university.
- 5 Years of experience.
- Deep understanding of the target market, user personas, and customer pain points.
- Knowledge of the industry, business model, and the problem space the product operates in.
- Ability to create and communicate a compelling product vision and strategy.
- Expertise in prioritizing, refining, and maintaining the Product Backlog.
- Ability to use data, metrics, and user feedback to inform priorities and validate ideas.
- Understanding of the technology stack and development processes to have credible conversations with the team.
- Skill in ordering backlog items to maximize the value delivered by the development team.
- Ability to articulate the business value and return on investment for features.
- Effectively communicating with and managing expectations of stakeholders (clients, executives, users).
- Excellent at conveying ideas, requirements, and the product vision clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Skill in understanding stakeholder needs, user feedback, and team concerns.
- Ability to persuade stakeholders and negotiate priorities without formal authority.
- Being open about progress, challenges, and decisions.
- Skill in writing clear, concise user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
- Active participation in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Embraces adaptability, iterative development, and continuous improvement.
