Tana Fellowship Program (Technical Roles)
About the job Tana Fellowship Program (Technical Roles)
Tana is a career launchpad for tech-savvy Kenyan youth. We believe that borders shouldn't constrain talent, and our mission is to create global opportunities for you to earn, learn, and build the future!
Apply here to join our Talent Pool and be considered for remote roles with our global partner companies.
- We welcome early-career individuals who are eager to start global careers in tech & data. The most popular roles we hire for are Junior QA Engineer, Junior Tech & Network Support Engineer, Junior Data Analyst, Junior Data Engineer, Junior DevOps, Junior Developer and AI Business Analyst. Please note these positions are geared towards recent graduates.
- Our client partners are US and European technology companies working across a range of industries, including finance, education, healthcare, telecommunications, enterprise software, logistics, network security and much more.
- Once you are in our Talent Pool we will consider you for available roles with our client partners. If you're successfully matched, you'll complete a 2-week pre-deployment training then be placed with the client partner, initially for a 3-month full-time Fellowship where you'll be fully embedded and integrated with their team. If you perform well, you will unlock long-term employment with your partner company.
- All Tana Fellows work from home, and are expected to have an appropriate laptop, phone, internet connection, stable power, and home office environment.
Here are some tips before you start the application:
- To be eligible for Tana, you must be:
- 1) a Kenyan citizen, and
- 2) fully finished with university or other educational programs (e.g. tech bootcamp). If you've completed coursework but are awaiting graduation, you may also apply.
- Tana is a highly competitive program, and as such, involves a rigorous multi-stage application process:
- Initial application: This initial application is expected to take about 3 hours to complete, as it contains self-learning and practical exercises.
- Technical skills assessments: If your application is successful, you'll be invited to complete a timed online test with short quizzes for any technical skills that you'd like to demonstrate. We expect this to take between 1 to 2 hours depending on how many skills you'd like to verify.
- Screening interview: We'll invite you to a 30-minute video interview to get to know your interests and experiences better.
- Admission to Tana Talent Pool: At this point, you'll find out whether you have gained admission to the Tana Talent Pool. Being in the Talent Pool means that we'll actively consider you for upcoming opportunities. Every partner company looks for different profiles, so we will reach out if we see a potential fit for partner-specific assessments.
- Partner-specific assessments: This may include more in-depth technical assessments, more in-depth interviews with the Tana team, and direct interviews with our partner companies. Our partner companies are the ones who ultimately decide who gets selected.
- Admission to Tana Fellowship: If selected by a partner company, you will be officially hired and trained as a Tana Fellow in order to start this exciting adventure with us!
- You may only apply once every 3 months. If you've applied previously but have not been successful, when you re-apply we will check if you have made substantial progress since your last application (e.g. completed a bootcamp; mastered a new programming language; completed new projects, etc.)
- We highly recommend completing all the materials for this application first, and then coming back to fill in the form in a single session to avoid data loss.
- Contact hr@tanatech.io for any technical difficulties.
