Position Overview
Tap Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Director of Labor & Delivery to lead the Labor & Delivery unit at Swedish Medical Center – First Hill in Seattle, Washington. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing operations within a high-volume Labor & Delivery department while ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care, staff engagement, and operational excellence.
The Director will provide strategic and operational leadership to nursing teams while collaborating with physicians, hospital leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize clinical outcomes and patient experience. This position offers competitive compensation ranging from approximately $180,000 to $250,000 annually based on experience and the opportunity to lead within one of the regions most respected healthcare systems.
Required Qualifications

Masters degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or a related healthcare field.

Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) required if the masters degree is not in nursing.

Active Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license upon hire.

Nursing leadership certification required within two years of hire.

Experience overseeing a high-volume Labor & Delivery unit in an acute care hospital setting.
Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, preferably within womens services or a related clinical service line.

Demonstrated success leading teams, managing complex clinical operations, and driving quality and process improvement initiatives.

Experience working within a unionized healthcare environment preferred.
Leadership Capabilities

Strong financial and operational management skills, including budgeting, reimbursement, and cost management.

Ability to make data-driven decisions, utilizing performance analytics and benchmarking tools.

Proven experience leading organizational change initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar performance improvement frameworks.

Exceptional communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills across multidisciplinary teams.

Demonstrated servant leadership mindset with the ability to inspire, influence, and support teams within a complex healthcare environment.
