Introduction:
We are seeking an experienced PV Technical Office Section Head to lead the technical and tendering activities for our solar energy projects. This role plays a key part in driving project success by ensuring the delivery of high-quality, competitive proposals and technically sound solutions. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in photovoltaic systems with solid commercial awareness and leadership capabilities to support business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review tender requirements and relevant information to support effective proposal preparation.
- Clarify bid conditions and oversee the overall tender preparation process.
- Monitor bid management activities to ensure alignment with organizational standards and requirements.
- Lead cost estimation and pricing development.
- Coordinate tender reviews and manage submission timelines in line with client requirements.
- Collaborate with the Advanced Engineering Group and senior management to develop effective, winning bid strategies.
- Manage the preparation of proposals for solar energy projects by coordinating with Business Development, Procurement, and Engineering teams.
- Review and manage client inquiries, transforming requirements into feasible and cost-effective solutions.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive responses to tender documentation, including addressing clarification requests.
- Develop detailed cost estimates as part of the quotation and bidding process.
- Act as the primary internal point of contact for clients during the enquiry and bidding stages, coordinating with external stakeholders (contractors, end-users, and OEMs) to negotiate and finalize technical and commercial specifications.
- Participate in client negotiations and support the conversion of opportunities into awarded contracts or purchase orders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with engineers and key decision makers within client organizations.
- Manage incoming business development inquiries by prioritizing tasks, tracking progress, and ensuring proper documentation and filing of quotations and cost records.
- Respond to client inquiries and requests in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
- Collaborate with Business Development and clients to gather all necessary information for proposal development, including technical solutions, pricing, and documentation using standardized templates.
- Support the Advance Engineering Group in maintaining and updating cost databases, customer and supplier records, price lists, and technical libraries.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the tendering team.
- Allocate tasks and ensure workload distribution aligns with deadlines.
- Build team capabilities in proposal writing, cost estimation, and bid management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 6-9 years' of experience in Solar energy
- Excellent English command.
- Significant professional experience in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar projects.
- Proven track record of successful leadership in solar tendering or project development roles.
- Experience in managing and leading a team, preferably in a similar capacity.
