Roles & responsibilities
CDP Discovery & Functional Design
- Facilitate discovery across business and data stakeholders to translate customer objectives into techno-functional CDP requirements (use cases, audiences, journeys, measurement).
- Define future-state functional architectures and process flows for data ingestion, identity resolution, audience building, activation, and measurement.
Salesforce Data Cloud & Snowflake Solutioning
- Draft business requirements, data contracts, schema designs, and integration specifications for Salesforce Data Cloud and Snowflake (including Data Sharing, external tables, ingestion patterns).
- Partner with architects/engineers to align on identity resolution strategies, consent & preference models, data quality standards, and activation routes (e.g., Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud, ad platforms).
Data & Activation Orchestration
- Map event/data sources (web/app, POS, CRM, contact center), define ETL/ELT pipelines, and ensure governance (privacy, PII handling, lineage).
- Design audience segmentation logic, real-time triggers, and journey orchestration; specify reverse ETL requirements for operational systems.
Measurement & Analytics
- Establish KPI trees and measurement architectures (attribution, audience lift, funnel metrics); oversee dashboards and reporting models across BI tools.
- Partner with analytics teams to convert CDP signals into insight-led interventions and optimization backlogs.
Delivery Support & Quality Assurance
- Prepare UAT scenarios, test data sets, and acceptance criteria; support triage and change control.
- Produce consulting-grade deliverables (functional designs, playbooks, runbooks, governance artefacts, executive readouts).
Required Skills & Expertise
Domain Expertise (Customer Advisory)
- Clear understanding of Marketing operations, Sales/CRM processes, Service/contact center workflows, CX journey design, and Customer Analytics.
- Ability to connect business outcomes (acquisition, activation, retention, CX improvement) to CDP capabilities (identity resolution, audience building, activation, measurement).
Technical & Platform Skills
- Salesforce Data Cloud: data model familiarity (Unified Profiles, Data Streams, Calculated Insights, Segments), activation to Marketing/Service Cloud, governance & permission sets.
- Snowflake: data warehousing concepts, ELT patterns, zero-copy cloning, performance considerations, role-based access control, data sharing, and cost awareness.
- Adjacent tooling: Journey Orchestration / Marketing Automation, Reverse ETL, Event streaming (e.g., Kafka), API & integration patterns (REST/Bulk).
- Strong grasp of data quality (profiling, deduplication), consent & privacy (GDPR/CCPA-aligned), PII handling, and MDM/golden record concepts.
Consulting Competencies
- Hypothesis-led problem structuring, clear synthesis, and executive-ready storytelling.
- High-quality documentation (requirements, designs, data specs, governance) and stakeholder facilitation.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Jira, Confluence, Miro.
Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech/MBA
- 5 – 8 years of experience in techno-functional roles spanning CDP/CRM/MarTech/Data implementations and customer transformation.
