About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to provide essential litigation and administrative support. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of the practiceensuring case files are managed efficiently, court deadlines are met, and clients remain well-informed throughout the process.
You will work directly with attorneys and serve as the backbone of the case management workflow, helping move cases forward from intake through resolution. This position is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a structured, fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Case Management and Docketing

Prepare, proofread, and file legal documents with courts and opposing counsel with a high degree of accuracy.

Monitor case dockets and an assigned case list to track deadlines, hearings, and trial dates.

Use the firms docketing system to calendar critical dates and send timely reminders to attorneys.
2. Client Communication and Intake

Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and managing information flow.

Professionally email and call clients to request documents, clarifications, or additional details needed for case progression.

Assist with initial client intake procedures and conduct conflict checks.
3. Administrative and Firm Support

Provide general administrative support including attorney calendar management, mail handling, and maintaining organized digital and physical filing systems.

Update the firms case management system to ensure all client and case information is accurate and current.

Conduct outreach to lawyers and legal professionals to support collaboration, referrals, and potential co-counsel opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
Must-Haves

Proven experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or similar legal support role

Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take initiative

Proficiency with docketing software and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications

Associate or bachelor's degree, or completion of an accredited legal assistant program

Previous experience in a litigation-focused law firm

High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion, with strong understanding of confidentiality requirements
