Local Recruiting & Communications Coordinator (volunteer, unpaid)

About the Position:

Associated Supervisor: Heads of Communications & People and Operations

Location: Delft, The Netherlands

We are seeking a motivated, outgoing and creative volunteer to join our international team. In this role, you will play a vital part in putting our team on the map in and around Delft, support our engineering team in recruiting new members for their workshop and be our local correspondent for external communications. You will attend events, support new members in joining our organization and contribute to our marketing and branding efforts. Doing so, you will get to collaborate closely with our engineering and science teams and act as an ambassador for our vision of reaching Mars.

Expectations:

• Close proximity to Delft, as this position requires regular on-site involvement

• Strong communication and intercultural skills for collaboration with internal teams and external partners

• Excellent written and spoken English

• Strong coordination abilities, including for events

• Willingness to learn from and connect with many new people

• Expected commitment of 10-15 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

• Represent Team Tumbleweed at local events (e.g. recruiting days)

• Cover events and ongoing local development for our external communications efforts

• Coordinate local recruiting initiatives to find new members (e.g. lecture pitches, hanging up posters)

• Be present for conferences, interviews and big marketing opportunities to support the local team

• Recognize and understand local hiring and communication needs early and address them with the wider team
