Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Aviation Safety Officer to oversee and manage aviation safety programs supporting rotary-wing aircraft operations. This role is responsible for developing safety policies, conducting inspections and investigations, and ensuring compliance with aviation safety standards to promote safe aircraft maintenance and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and administer aviation safety regulations, policies, and standards
  • Evaluate aircraft maintenance and operational programs to ensure safety compliance and effectiveness
  • Examine maintenance personnel for initial safety certifications and ongoing competency
  • Assess training programs, facilities, equipment, and procedures for safety and compliance
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and advisory activities related to aviation and ground safety
  • Lead and support aircraft accident and incident investigations, including root cause analysis
  • Develop risk management and mitigation strategies to prevent accidents and improve safety performance
  • Prepare clear, concise reports on aviation, ground safety, and environmental incidents
  • Conduct safety briefings, training sessions, and safety stand-down meetings
  • Ensure compliance with applicable aviation safety regulations and standards

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Aviation or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Graduate from the Army Aviation Safety Officer Course or a DOD Aviation Safety and Accident Investigation Course or college degree or certificate from an accredited College or University with a major in Aviation Safety including Basic Aviation Accident Investigation, Human Factors, Aviation Risk Management, Aviation Safety Program Management/SMS, and the Legal Aspects of Aviation.
  • Develop and administer safety related regulations and standards pertaining to the maintenance and operation of aircraft including:
    d. Examine maintenance personnel for initial safety certifications and continuing competence.
  • Evaluate maintenance personnel training programs, equipment and facilities.
  • Evaluate the operational aspect of programs used for aviation maintenance operations to determine adequacy of facilities, equipment, procedures and overall management to ensure safe maintenance and operation of aircraft.
  • Extensive experience in risk management and mitigation Experience in conducting aircraft accident investigations.
  • Perform a variety of other inspections, investigations, and advisory duties.
  • Report and investigate aircraft, ground safety, and environmental accidents to determine the cause of the accident and formulate recommendations to help prevent similar mishaps in the future.
  • Provide written reports which are clear, concise, and meaningful for all ground/aviation safety and environmental matters.
  • Develop required reports, conduct briefings, safety training, and when directed conduct quarterly safety and semiannual safety stand down meetings.
  • FAA Commercial Pilots License -Instrument, with at least 1,500 hours of in-aircraft flight time is highly desirable.
  • Prior U.S. Military or DOD Aviation Safety Officer Experience is highly desirable.

Medical Examination: Candidates must successfully complete all mandatory medical examinations required to obtain employment.

Criminal Record: To qualify for a Saudi Work Visa, candidates must have a clean criminal record with no prior convictions, as specified by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Drug and Alcohol Testing: Candidates must pass a drug test to be considered for employment. Additionally, our program enforces a random drug and alcohol testing policy. Employees will be subject to periodic testing to maintain adherence to our workplace standards and safety regulations.
