About the job Modular Regulatory Specialist
Modular Regulatory Specialist
Tulsa, OK | On‑Site | Full‑Time
We're partnering with a growing design‑build manufacturer to hire a Modular Regulatory Specialist who thrives in structured, technical environments. This role plays a critical part in keeping modular construction projects compliant, approved, and moving through production without delays.
You'll support modular projects deployed across multiple U.S. states and select Canadian provinces, working closely with project management, drafting, and QA teams to ensure drawings and documentation align with governing codes and modular program requirements.
This is an individual contributor role for someone who enjoys translating complex regulations into clear, executable design updates.
What You'll Be Doing
- Regulatory Submissions & Approvals
- Own the submission process for state and provincial modular programs from start to finish.
- Track deadlines closely to prevent manufacturing or inspection delays.
- Drawing & Design Adjustments
- Modify construction drawings using AutoCAD (daily) and Revit (as needed) to meet jurisdiction‑specific requirements.
- Adjust plans, sections, and elevations based on feedback from authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
- Code Interpretation
- Apply IBC and Canadian code standards to modular building designs prior to submission.
- Identify and resolve compliance gaps before documentation leaves the internal team.
- External Communication
- Serve as a technical point of contact for state agencies and third‑party inspectors.
- Respond to RFIs and coordinate corrections until approval is secured.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work alongside drafting, QA, and project leadership to ensure permit‑ready documentation reflects the latest standards and revisions.
What We're Looking For
- Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to technical documentation.
- Comfortable working under clear deadlines tied directly to production schedules.
- Able to collaborate effectively with internal teams while handling external agency communication.
Experience & Skills
- Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- Advanced AutoCAD skills required; Revit or BIM exposure is a plus.
- 3+ years in a role involving building codes, permitting, regulatory filings, or technical compliance.
- Prior exposure to modular, prefabricated, or high‑volume design‑build environments is strongly preferred.
Compensation & Logistics
- Salary Range: $70,000–$80,000 base
- Work Model: On‑site in Tulsa
- Employment Type: Full‑Time
- Work Authorization: Must be eligible to work in the U.S.; no sponsorship available
