Systems Engineer (On-Prem | Direct Hire | $100K-$115K/YR | Tulsa, OK)

ABOUT THE ROLE As a Systems Engineer, you will architect, implement, and optimize a next-generation infrastructure platform, driving modernization efforts through automation, cloud-native architecture, and platform engineering. You will ensure security, scalability, and operational efficiency across hybrid environments while championing best practices in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and DevOps methodologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Hybrid Infrastructure Management

  • Design, implement, and maintain virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV).
  • Administer and optimize both Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments.
  • Architect and manage hybrid cloud and data center infrastructure integration.
  • Implement comprehensive backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.

Automation & Platform Engineering

  • Develop infrastructure automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, and IaC tools.
  • Implement configuration management across hybrid environments for consistency and efficiency.
  • Create standardized deployment processes for both on-premises and cloud workloads.
  • Build self-service capabilities to enhance team productivity and operational agility.

Operational Excellence & Security

  • Lead incident response and troubleshooting for critical infrastructure issues.
  • Implement advanced monitoring and observability solutions (Zabbix, Prometheus, SolarWinds, Grafana).
  • Manage capacity planning, hardware refreshes, and cloud resource optimization.
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, processes, and runbooks.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, identity and access management best practices, and patch management protocols.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of experience in enterprise IT environments with expertise in automation, hybrid cloud architectures, and infrastructure engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, including hybrid connectivity solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable strategies.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and drive initiatives to completion.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Multi-cloud environments, software-defined networking, security architecture.
  • Automation & DevOps: IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM Templates), CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI), Kubernetes, Docker.
  • Security & Compliance: Zero Trust architecture, compliance automation, disaster recovery best practices.
  • Observability & Operations: Monitoring, log aggregation, performance tuning, ITSM/ITIL methodologies.
  • Scripting & Tooling: Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, Bash for infrastructure automation.

  • Onsite in Tulsa, OK, five days per week.
