Position Summary:
The Senior Network Engineer will develop, implement, and support network services and solutions for consulting clients within a Professional Services model. This position will foster customer-focused relationships to identify business challenges, define specifications and requirements, and deliver optimal solutions. The role also involves pre-sales and post-sales engagement to ensure seamless delivery and alignment with client objectives.
Roles and Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Collaborate as a member of the HBS Network team, taking a leadership role in providing consultative and proactive project support for HBS's account base.
- Engage in pre-sales activities, including solution design, scoping discussions, and proposal development, to address client needs effectively.
- Take ownership of post-sales responsibilities, such as implementation, troubleshooting, and ongoing support to ensure client satisfaction.
- Work across multiple internal teams to ensure the successful, timely delivery of the scope of work.
- Research new products, enhance configuration standards, and educate team members on these products to improve the sales process.
- Provide senior-level support, maintenance, and administration for customer networks, while proactively identifying concerns or opportunities for enhancement.
- Promote and model a positive team atmosphere across regional and virtual practices, maintaining professionalism and respect.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of past projects to inform time estimates and scopes for future initiatives.
- Pursue and maintain current vendor/industry-specific certifications, while staying up to date on emerging products and solutions to better support the Professional Services model.
- Meet a minimum billing requirement of 1,450 hours per fiscal year, prorated based on the start date, balancing this against professional development and on-the-job training opportunities.

Required Experience:
- 3+ years in a technical field.
- Pre- and post-sales experience within a Professional Services model.
Preferred Experience:
- 3-5 years in a technical-related field.
- 3+ years as a consultant, specializing in networking or related domains.
Required Education, Skills, and Certifications:
- Bachelors Degree in a relevant field (or equivalent certifications and work experience).
- Certifications such as CCNP, CCA-C, VCA-DV, MCA, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and architecting network-based solutions.
- Proficiency in installing and supporting Cisco or HP/Aruba network switching and routing products.
- In-depth knowledge of IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS, and associated best practices.
- Expertise in routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP, as well as L2/L3 architecture and design (including Multicast and QoS).
Preferred Education, Skills, and Certifications:
- Associate-level certifications (minimum of two or more).
- Advanced certifications such as CCNP, CCP-V, VCAP-DCV, MCE, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with advanced technologies, including Cisco Nexus (VDC, vPC, VXLAN), ISR-based VPNs (FLEX-VPN, GET-VPN, DMVPN), data center design using Cisco Nexus Architecture, and software-defined networking (SDA, SD-WAN).
- Familiarity with Cisco/Meraki/Aruba Wireless design and deployment tools like Ekahau.
- Experience with complementary technologies such as Citrix NetScaler, Palo Alto firewalls, Infoblox, and monitoring solutions like SolarWinds or SPLUNK.
