About the Role:
A banking-focused software consultancy with major projects across Scandinavia and the Baltics is placing a Senior Android Engineer (consultant role) with its end client, a leading bank. You will join the bank's Mobile App team, contribute directly to the Android roadmap, and own technical solutions across its production mobile banking app.This is a senior/staff-level engagement, equivalent to Manager or Senior Manager on a consulting career track. You will work alongside iOS and cross-functional teams, solve ambiguous problems independently, and mentor and lead junior and mid-level Android developers.
What You'll Do:
- Own feature development, maintenance, and technical improvements across the Android app
- Design and implement scalable mobile architecture (MVVM, Clean Architecture)
- Collaborate closely with iOS engineers and cross-functional teams to keep platform experiences consistent
- Take ownership of technical solutions and actively shape architectural decisions
- Act as a technical mentor to junior and mid-level Android developers
- Uphold code quality through rigorous testing, code review, and CI/CD practices
Requirements:
- 7–10+ years of hands-on, production-level Android development
- Deep, demonstrable expertise in Kotlin; prior Java experience is a strong plus
- Proven track record designing scalable architectures (MVVM, Clean Architecture)
- Hands-on expertise with the Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, Dagger 2/Hilt, and the broader Jetpack ecosystem
- Strong experience with reactive/async programming (RxJava and/or Kotlin Coroutines & Flow)
- Solid grasp of concurrency, threading, and performance optimization
- Experience integrating REST and/or GraphQL APIs
- Strong engineering fundamentals: OOP, SOLID, clean code, design patterns
- Experience writing automated tests (unit, integration, UI)
- Solid Git and code review practices; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- Working knowledge of Material Design and mobile UX best practices
- Experience publishing and maintaining apps on Google Play
- Demonstrated experience mentoring or technically leading other engineers
- Based in Estonia, Latvia, or Lithuania
- Your CV should map specific projects, responsibilities, and timelines, not just list technologies
