As a DBA/Data Engineer, your primary focus will be on designing, maintaining, supervising, and developing the database infrastructure to support our platform. Your goal is to ensure that our systems meet the service requirements of both external clients and internal users. We provide services internationally to major accounts that have high expectations regarding availability and efficiency. Reporting to the Infrastructure and DevOps Manager, you will become a valuable part of a 12-person team that specializes in SysAdmins, DBA, and Monitoring. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining and optimizing our database systems.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Database Maintenance: Your top priority will be to ensure that our databases are maintained in optimal conditions, focusing on performance and availability.
  2. SQL Performance Optimization: You'll work on optimizing the performance of SQL processing across our platforms.
  3. Automation and Monitoring: Improving the automation of routine tasks and monitoring processes will be a crucial part of your role.
  4. Collaborative Development: You will actively participate in the production of components developed and operated by us.
  5. Data Environment Management: Keeping dev/test environments up-to-date with desensitized data is essential.
  6. Supervision and Analysis: You'll be responsible for supervising and analyzing database activity, monitoring jobs, and handling incidents.
  7. Security and User Management: You will play a key role in applying security policies, managing user access, and ensuring data security.
  8. Data Structure Maintenance: Maintaining a clean data environment by archiving and cleaning data structures is another vital aspect of your role.
  9. Data Quality: You will work closely with project managers to ensure the quality of master data and reference data.
  10. Technical Expertise: Your expertise will extend to assisting developers with data structure design and SQL development.

We are seeking a candidate who possesses:

  • The ability to collaborate effectively within a technical team, including project managers, developers, sysadmins, network and telecom specialists, and support teams.

  • Aptitude for knowledge sharing and skills transfer.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience (excluding internships) as a MySQL DBA, with a solid understanding of the Telecom industry.
  • Proficiency in technical English.

You will work with a range of technologies, including but not limited to:

  • MySQL/MariaDB, Percona, ColumnStore, Galera Cluster.
  • ElasticSearch 6.X, and more.
  • Linux distributions such as Debian, CentOS, and RedHat.
  • Scripting languages like Bash and Python, along with automation tools like Ansible.
