Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Drafter with experience in electrical controls and automation systems. The ideal candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD Electrical, capable of producing accurate and professional electrical schematics, mechanical layouts, and detailed documentation to support the design, installation, and maintenance of automated systems and control panels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and revise detailed electrical drawings, schematics, panel layouts, and assembly documentation using AutoCAD Electrical.

  • Apply knowledge of electrical controls and automation systems to create accurate designs for industrial applications, including PLCs, sensors, HMIs, and motor control circuits.

  • Utilize AutoCAD Electricals specialized features, such as:

    • Automated wire numbering and component tagging.

    • Circuit design and reuse tools.

    • Title block updates and automated report generation.

  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, control systems designers, and project managers to ensure all designs meet functional, safety, and compliance requirements.

  • Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs), wiring diagrams, and terminal plans.

  • Support the standardization and automation of drafting processes to enhance productivity and accuracy.

  • Assist in troubleshooting and updating documentation based on field modifications and as-built conditions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or certification in Electrical Drafting, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in drafting with a focus on electrical control systems and/or industrial automation.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and standard AutoCAD drafting tools.

  • Solid understanding of electrical design principles, including electrical panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and schematic development.

  • Familiarity with PLC hardware, industrial automation components, and controls like Allen Bradley, Siemens, Unitronics, Wago.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and equipment manuals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with control systems for industrial automation, HVAC, manufacturing, or process control environments.

  • Knowledge of NFPA 79, UL 508A, and other relevant electrical standards.

  • Experience with additional CAD platforms or ECAD tools is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of UL-508a Standard
