We currently have permanent role as a Junior Chief Operating Officer - Financial Services with our large consulting client on a long term project with a major financial services client in the downtown Montreal area.

Role: Junior Chief Operating Officer - Financial Services

Type: Fulltime, Perm

Location: HybridDowntown Montreal, QC -(roles starts off 5 days in office for 1st 3 months, then turns into hybrid setup 3 days onsite, 2 days from home)

Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 + 9% bonus + 3 weeks paid vacation + RRSP contribution + benefits + sick/personal days

Position Overview

  • Coordinate and manage day-to-day operations for AMER GBTO and GCOO departments
  • Lead and support budgeting, monthly forecasting, and financial management activities
  • Review monthly GBTO & GCOO financial statements (budget and forecast) with the relevant GBTO ExCo member
  • Generate financial and budget reports to meet stakeholder needs
  • Monitor financial KPIs and provide analysis to management and stakeholders
  • Manage invoice approvals, disputes, accruals, and cost allocations
  • Support annual budget preparation and forecast analysis
  • Run monthly resource management meetings with GBTO & GCOO managers to ensure staff plan alignment
  • Analyze staffing efficiency and optimization opportunities
  • Coordinate with HR to manage headcount, cost centers, and organizational charts
  • Ensure global coordination with Paris on all resource management topics
  • Monitor and report on operating expense trends for the assigned perimeter
  • Act as point of contact for budget and cost tracking for key projects
  • Participate in transversal projects and ad hoc initiatives supporting GBTO strategy


Mandatory

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in financial services
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high quality standards
  • Proactive, dynamic, and client-focused mindset
  • Fluency in French & English

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of financial industry operations
  • Experience working in an international and matrixed organization
  • Experience with budget and forecast analysis
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI
