About the Role

The company is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to build its quality assurance function from the ground up.

This is a foundational role: you will define testing strategy, determine what to test, and decide when code is ready to ship. You will build automated test infrastructure, establish release processes, and eventually hire and mentor a small QA team to scale the function.

This role reports to senior leadership on the DeFi/product engineering side and offers high ownership and influence over product quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Automated Test Infrastructure
  Build automated test suites from scratch covering web applications, backend APIs, and critical trading flows. Stack selection is flexible (TypeScript, Playwright, or similar).
• Release Quality
  Define and manage release testing processes to ensure structured, reliable releases without slowing down development.
• Product Coverage
  Understand the product deeply to identify critical flows to test, including trading, market creation, settlement, and edge cases affecting user funds.
• CI/CD Integration
  Integrate automated tests into the deployment pipeline to catch issues before production deployment.
• Bug Tracking & Visibility
  Track issues, coordinate fixes with engineering teams, and maintain clear quality metrics.
• Team Building
  Hire and mentor additional QA engineers as the function scales.

Requirements

• 3+ years in QA engineering or SDET roles
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress)
• Experience in trading, fintech, or financial products
• Familiarity with crypto/DeFi platforms or blockchain technologies
• Full-stack testing experience (web applications and backend APIs)
• Experience with TypeScript or Python for test automation
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI)

Nice to Have

• Experience at prediction markets, sports betting platforms, or trading exchanges
• Experience leading or mentoring a small QA team
• Background in performance and load testing
• Experience with mobile iOS testing
• Exposure to security testing
