About the job Senior DevOps Engineer - Azure & Kubernetes
Before You Apply
- You must be physically located in Brazil
- CVs MUST be submitted in English
- Minimum Years' Experience: 5
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer who thrives on building secure, scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure.
You'll join an international engineering organisation responsible for the cloud platforms powering enterprise software used by customers worldwide.
Working primarily with Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes, you'll help ensure that critical applications remain secure, available and performant while making it easier for engineering teams to build, test and deploy software.
This is a hands-on role combining cloud engineering, site reliability, security and automation.
If you enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges, eliminating repetitive tasks and improving how software is delivered, this could be an excellent opportunity.
What You'll Be Working On
Cloud Infrastructure & Kubernetes
- Manage, maintain and optimise cloud infrastructure hosted on Microsoft Azure.
- Operate and secure production Kubernetes environments, particularly Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Work across cloud networking, identity management, storage and Azure SQL.
- Maintain reliable, scalable environments supporting enterprise SaaS applications.
- Deliver platform upgrades, patches and hotfixes while minimising disruption to customers.
Site Reliability & Performance
Reliability isn't just about responding when something breaks. It's about engineering systems that are less likely to fail.
You'll be responsible for:
- Defining and monitoring Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
- Implementing monitoring, alerting and observability solutions.
- Investigating production incidents and identifying root causes.
- Participating in on-call support and coordinating incident resolution.
- Conducting post-incident reviews and implementing lasting improvements.
- Testing backup, restoration and disaster recovery procedures.
- Turning recurring operational issues into automated solutions.
CI/CD & Automation
- Design, build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Integrate automated testing, quality checks and security controls into deployment workflows.
- Improve software release processes to make deployments faster, safer and more predictable.
- Establish standards for source control, development environments and release readiness.
- Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Python or Bash.
- Reduce manual operational tasks through automation and infrastructure improvements.
Cloud Security
Security is an integral part of this role.
You'll help protect cloud infrastructure and customer environments by:
- Identifying, prioritising and remediating vulnerabilities.
- Managing security patches, certificates, secrets and access permissions.
- Applying security best practices across Azure and Kubernetes.
- Supporting secure configuration and maintenance of production environments.
- Contributing to continuous improvements in infrastructure security.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with software engineers and technical teams across Europe, North America and Australia.
- Help establish and improve engineering and operational standards.
- Share knowledge and support other engineers in adopting DevOps best practices.
- Create and maintain operational documentation, troubleshooting guides and runbooks.
- Contribute to a culture of reliability, automation and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or cloud operations.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including networking, identity, storage and Azure SQL.
- Proven experience deploying, managing and securing Kubernetes in production, ideally using AKS.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably with Azure DevOps YAML.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python or Bash.
- Practical experience implementing monitoring, alerting and incident response processes.
- Understanding of Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and reliability engineering principles.
- Experience with vulnerability management, security patching and secrets management.
- Experience supporting customer-facing production environments.
- Familiarity with Windows Server and SQL Server.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with international teams across multiple time zones.
Nice to Have
Experience with any of the following would be an advantage:
Observability & Monitoring
- Prometheus
- Grafana
- Loki
- Tempo
- OpenTelemetry
Security & Compliance
- Microsoft Defender for Cloud
- Azure Policy
- ISO 27001
- SOC 2
Deployment & Operations
- GitOps and ArgoCD
- Feature flag management
- ITIL or other IT service management practices
Professional Certifications
- Microsoft Azure: AZ-104, AZ-400 or AZ-500
- Kubernetes: CKA or CKS
How You Work
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a proactive engineering mindset.
You:
- Think about reliability first. You design systems to prevent problems rather than simply reacting to them.
- Automate whenever possible. You recognise repetitive tasks as opportunities for improvement.
- Take ownership. You investigate problems thoroughly and follow them through to resolution.
- Care about security. You understand that protecting infrastructure and customer data is everyone's responsibility.
- Communicate clearly. You can explain complex technical issues to engineers and other stakeholders.
- Keep learning. You stay informed about emerging cloud technologies, tools and engineering practices.
- Work collaboratively. You enjoy sharing knowledge and helping your team succeed.
