Senior Applications Developer - AEC

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Applications Developer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Applications Developer, you will play a crucial role in developing software applications, websites, and databases specifically tailored to meet the needs of professionals in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry. Your primary responsibility will be to create solutions that enhance the workflow, productivity, and quality of projects for architects, designers, and engineers using digital technologies.

Important:

• Relocation to Kuwait will be required

Key Responsibilities

Operational:

• Design, develop, and maintain custom applications and solutions using Autodesk Forge APIs and services to address specific business and industry needs.
• Develop code in Autodesk Forge and support all aspects of Autodesk BIM360, Navisworks, and other AEC information repositories.
• Provide support and troubleshooting related to project applications, including but not limited to Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Infraworks, Navisworks, etc.
• Conduct QA/QC support on current project delivery workflows.
• Maintain and improve the performance of existing solutions.
• Collaborate with Digital Delivery Representatives to explore new changes and requirements.
• Administer digital engineering platforms.

Training and Development:

• Recommend improvements to existing software solutions.
• Participate in business requirements analysis and business process re-engineering.
• Train users in the conversion and implementation of systems.
• Present ideas for system improvements, including cost proposals.
• Ensure that Health, Safety, Sustainability, and Continual Improvement are embedded into all work practices.
• Maintain a high level of competency in software through continued use and training.

Reporting:

• Identify and report back to the Associate Director of Digital Delivery and Director, Information Technology on defined and required corporate initiatives.
• Report on progress and results achieved with SDDC/BIM Managers and corporate lead developer.

Project Support:

• Create and maintain custom software solutions that automate workflows and improve efficiency.
• Develop user interfaces and plugins to enhance the user experience.
• Troubleshoot any technical issues or glitches and provide guidance and expertise to the design team.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Knowledge Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in software engineering, computer science, gaming design, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in customisation and implementation of Autodesk Platform Services (Forge API).
• Certification from Kuwait Society of Engineers or ability to become certified.

Skills Requirements:

• Programming using .NET, C#, C++, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery, Bootstrap, Python, PowerShell, Node.js, React.
• Skilled in relevant design and engineering software (Revit, Navisworks, Civils 3D, SketchUp, AutoCAD).
• Advanced knowledge in IT and digital management systems.

Competency Requirements:

• Technical expertise in software engineering, web development, and database design.
• Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and services.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to drive consensus and win the trust of teammates and project teams.
• Proven record of being a self-starter and results-oriented.
• Experience with Agile project management methodologies.

Experience Requirements:

• 7+ years of international experience in supporting engineering applications.
• 5+ years experience in developing and deploying enhancements & add-ins to Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD products, Autodesk Forge platform Services.
• Middle East work experience is highly desired.
