About the role:

As an experienced Network Engineer, the role involves supporting and evolving a secure and highly available IT infrastructure, essential to the banks operations in wealth management and trade finance.

Key Responsibilties: 

  • Manage, maintain, and optimize the banks network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN, firewalls, proxy)

  • Monitor network performance, ensure uptime, and proactively resolve potential issues

  • Implement and support secure connectivity between international offices and third parties

  • Collaborate with the cybersecurity and IT operations teams to align with regulatory and security standards

  • Document network designs, configurations, and maintenance procedures

  • Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery planning related to network infrastructure

  • Provide level 2/3 support and participate in on-call rotations when needed


Profile and qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar infrastructure role, ideally within the banking or financial services sector

  • Solid expertise in routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLANs)

  • Practical experience with network technologies such as Cisco, Fortinet, and/or Palo Alto

  • Strong command of network security principles, including segmentation, firewall configuration, and access control

  • Proficient in implementing and managing VPNs, proxy servers, load balancers, and remote access infrastructure

  • Skilled in using monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., PRTG, Wireshark) for performance tuning and troubleshooting

  • Bilingual in French and English (oral and written)

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline


A plus:

  • Cisco CCNA / CCNP

  • Fortinet NSE 4+

  • ITIL Foundation certification

  • Knowledge of Swiss banking regulatory and security standards is a distinct advantage
