Position Overview:

The Business Analyst (BA) will join a global team of Business Analysts and will be based in client's Istanbul office (Turkey). He/She will report to the Senior Business Analyst (i.e Product Owner) and expected to further improve, digitalize, and automate the Finance & Credit related activites.

The selected candidate will focus on learning client's Business, IT Lanscape and then start gathering, analyzing, designing and maintaining all modules in relation to Credit, Finance, Treasury, Accounting or Tax modules developed in or outside of client's in-house CTRM.

Main relationships:

  • Liaises internally and build close, collaborative relationships with the user base.
  • Be part of a large IT Programme of over 100 people (BA, DEV & QA) working in the development of this CTRM, its modules and its integrated systems.

Key Tasks:

Business Analysis

  • Demonstrate service-oriented approach, an understanding of the customers business needs and be able to achieve and maintain high customer satisfaction ratings.
  • Manage client expectations effectively.
  • Work alongside a Product Owner / Senior Business Analyst on the Finance and Credit modules, developing forward-thinking systems and features within the CTRM and outside (i.e Extract and Reports /BI tools).
  • Design integrated solutions with other product owners across locations and across stream (and across commodities and asset classes (Oil, natgas, power, Derivatives).
  • Work hand-in-hand with a dedicated team of C# (wpf) developers to your team.
  • Be part of the SDLC for all Finance and Credit developments.
  • Keep a constant specified and prioritized backlog of stories to develop and lead the development throughout Daily Stand-up and workshops under the supervision of the Product Owner

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Participate in daily standups
  • Gather requirements across the groups location and department (i.e Geneva, Singapore, Houston..)
  • Run workshops with Business and IT (dev, qa)
  • Maintain an up-to-date list of specification in DevOps (Taking part actively in backlog refinement sessions with the Agile team)
  • Report to the Product Owner and/or the PMO the progress of your deliveries.
  • Act as a 1st level Support when required on the module you will work on.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the QA (testers) in the testing of your stories and assist them improve the regression tests
  • Provide quick-wins to your user base (i.e. Using PowerBI report for instance)

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • Strong knowledge of either Finance or Credit concepts in a Trading House.
  • Formal education, ideally at University level or equivalent level of certification and experience.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of previous relevant professional experience in IT or a Software Company or a Banking/Trading related company.
  • Experience of providing excellent Customer Service to a local and global user base.
  • Expert communicator.
  • Team player with ability to exercise flexibility, demonstrate initiative to ensure the business needs are met in a proactive manner with limited supervision.
  • Good interpersonal skills, especially communication, able to communicate technical solutions to non-technical users, in a multi cultured working environment and able to cope in stressful/difficult/conflict situations in a serviced oriented manner.
  • Highly organized and possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Be self-motivated and creative and able to work with minimum supervision..
  • Above average SQL skills / or any other language (Python, C#).
  • General skills on ICT technologies.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Understanding of Finance related topics such as Structured trade Finance, Credit Exposure, General Ledger, Payment, Swift, Letter of Credits, Loans, SWIFT.
  • Good knowledge of any of the following commodities (Oil, Gas, Metal & their associated derivatives instruments)
  • Proven experience in lengthy implementation and/or upgrade of CTRM/ETRM, Trading (Physical/Financial)
  • Other languages in addition to English will be useful but not mandatory, e.g. French, Russian
  • Certifications/experience on any of the following will be very useful: Microsoft software technologies, Software design, development and testing methodologies / concepts, Project management, ITIL., Technical certification
  • Ability to debug/write stored procedures
  • Ability to do PowerBI reports (or other BI tools)

Employment Contract:

  • This is for a regular/permanent full-time position, based in Istanbul, which is subject to a three-month probation period.
  • Remuneration will be based on experience and qualifications.
