Role Overview
We are seeking for a Head of Data to lead the development and execution of its enterprise data strategy across the entire trade lifecycle from pre-trade analytics to live execution and post-trade reporting. You will be responsible for overseeing critical data infrastructure, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility, and implementing a scalable, governed data ecosystem. The role demands a strategic thinker who can translate complex business needs into robust technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Data Management

Oversee data systems across all trading phases: pre-trade modeling, real-time execution, and post-trade analysis.

Lead the development and maintenance of business-critical databases.

Integrate diverse internal and external data sources into a coherent, high-performance architecture.

Deliver real-time, actionable insights for traders, analysts, and risk teams.
2. Strategic Data Leadership

Define and drive the organizations enterprise-wide data vision.

Implement governance frameworks ensuring data quality, ownership, and regulatory alignment.

Standardize lifecycle practices for data management across business lines.

Ensure post-trade data supports accurate performance reporting and forecasting.
3. Architecture & Operational Excellence

Design and evolve a scalable enterprise data architecture.

Manage ingestion, processing, and secure storage of key datasets (market, position, P&L, execution, etc.).

Maintain and enhance data monitoring systems to ensure reliability and performance.
4. Compliance & Risk Controls

Align data management practices with external regulations and internal controls.

Facilitate audit readiness through transparent and well-documented data operations.

Establish proactive safeguards to mitigate data-related operational risks.
5. Leadership & Collaboration

Build and lead a high-performing data engineering team.

Work in partnership with IT, trading, and risk departments to align data initiatives with business objectives.

Promote a data-first culture and enhance data literacy across teams.
6. Innovation & Optimization

Stay ahead of trends in big data, automation, and advanced analytics.

Continuously improve platforms and pipelines to boost data usability and processing speed.

Evaluate emerging technologies that can improve decision-making and create a competitive edge.
Candidate Profile
-
Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or similar field.

Strong track record in enterprise data management, governance, and architecture within trading, financial services, or energy environments.

Expertise in the full lifecycle of trading data, from modeling and ingestion to reporting and forecasting.

Practical experience with modern data tools, including SQL, Python, and BI platforms such as Power BI.

Strong leadership and communication skills; comfortable working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Desirable Skills

Familiarity with commodity/energy trading platforms and data providers.

Understanding of pricing mechanisms and market fundamentals.

Experience with predictive modeling, machine learning, or AI in a trading context.

Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements impacting data management.
