About the position

We have a phenomenal opportunity for a Detailing Supervisor, to lead and grow a team of detailers in a manufacturing and fabrication environment supporting construction projects. You'll run day-to-day detailing operations, manage the full project lifecycle, from sale and estimation to delivery, improve quality and on-time delivery, and scale detailing team capacity. The default posture is to lead and coach, stepping into production only when genuinely necessary.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and develop detailers: set standards for quality, timelines, and communication, career cadence and delegate tasks
  • Plan and assign workloads; balance capacity across active projects
  • Oversee project lifecycle health (scope, schedule, budget, quality); remove blockers early and help enhance stakeholder teams
  • Run a clear operating rhythm (daily/weekly huddles; monthly performance reviews)
  • Partner with Customers, Sales/Estimating on handoffs, scope clarity, and estimating inputs
  • Coordinate with HQ on Admin/Finance on billing, AR, and change order accuracy for example
  • Drive continuous improvement in tools, templates, and handoffs; reduce rework and inspire innovation
  • Track and share metrics; use data to guide decisions and highlight wins

Qualifications Must-have

  • Leadership experience managing detailing teams in manufacturing/fabrication supplying to the construction industry
  • Strong communication and coaching; comfortable with tough and supportive alignment and feedback
  • Proven capacity planning, workload assignment, scheduling, and standards enforcement
  • Fluency in CAD-driven detailing workflows (e.g., shop drawings, RFIs, change management scope creep and, project milestones)
  • Strong time management; thrives in fast-moving, high-visibility operations

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in construction-adjacent detailing (e.g., structural components, building systems, steel systems and rebar are also appropriate for example)
  • Vocational certificate or 2-year technical diploma in design/drafting (or equivalent experience), however strong detailing experience is equally valued when leadership skills and achievements are present
  • Track record of delivery, quality, and team capability improvements
  • Familiarity with performance reviews and compensation input
  • Strong communication habits with centralized support groups and players

Compensation and benefits

  • Competitive base salary between $80,000 and $90,000
