Drilling Supervisor
Job Description:
Zhaikmunai LLP, part of Nostrum Oil & Gas, an
independent multi-field oil and gas company engaging in the production,
development and exploration of oil and gas in the pre-Caspian Basin, is looking
for a Drilling Supervisor
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate Safety Leadership. Ensure the work
is performed in a safe and efficient manner
- Manage the drilling contractor. Ensure the
Drilling Contractor and service companies implement the work in accordance
with the approved drilling program and Company’s Drilling and Operations
Standards. Provide daily written instructions to the drilling contractor
and ensure instructions are implemented
- Execute well program in line with Company’s
Drilling and Operations Standards
- Ensure Zhaikmunai daily drilling reports are
complete, accurate and timely transmitted to Zhaikmunai drilling offices
in Uralsk
- Witness and supervise all critical well
operations on the rig as outlined by the requirements of Drilling Program
- Participate in Safety, Pre-spud and Pre-phase
meetings and report any existing and potential deviations to Company.
Apply the Management of Chance process
- Liaise with Zhaikmunai Drilling Engineering
personnel on daily basis should there be any changes to the current
drilling program
- Inform the Senior Wells Manager in the field on
any deviation of well execution from the program
- Ensure the drilling contractor executes its
contractual obligations, including but not limited to its rig maintenance
plan
- Hold mini After Action Reviews on the well
site after each major operation and per well section and report back to
the Uralsk Well Engineering team
- Participate in rig site safety meetings
- Provide input in Zhaikmunai’s financial
management system (SAP)
- Ensure proper planning of resources
- Leave clear instructions for the Night DSV and
level when be consulted
- QAQC daily reports as input for “Open Wells”
- Review critical calculations using appropriate
software
- Set challenging targets for the drilling
contractor
- Create and promote “team spirit” at the well
site
- Ensure daily contact with the Field Wells
Manager and provide full exchange of information
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience in well supervision in H²S
environment
- Demonstrate leadership with no tolerance for
safety violations
- Experience in supervising Drilling operations
with segregated (daily rate) services
- Ability to work in team environment
- Lead all relevant personnel in creating a
performance-driven organisation
- Proven track record in similar exploration and
appraisal work for deep wells between 4500 - 6000m and high deviated /
horizontal wells
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Drilling
Industry of which 3 years in DSV role
- Verbal and written English, Russian and good
reporting skills. Preferable skills in “Open Wells” reporting system.
- Conversant with Landmark Well Engineering
software (torque and drag, critical rotary speed, etc) or equivalent.
- Valid Medical Certificate
- Valid IWCF Drilling Supervisor Certificate
level 4
- Valid H²S certification
