About the job Chief Accountant
Chief Accountant
Purpose: (i) to organize accounting based on International standards and in compliance with RoK legislation;
(ii) maintenance management reporting on actuals and for budget, forecasts, strategic plan and business plan, according to company policies and procedures;
(iii) tax reporting and compliance with the applicable legislation.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and allocate the work of the Accountancy Section to ensure that all tasks are completed within prescribed timelines;
- Ensure the Treasury and Banking functions operate in accordance with legislative, regulatory and organisational requirements;
- Managing, control and timely reconciliation of Companys Loan and Equity financing;
- Reliable accounting of cost estimates, sales and services, economically relevant report calculations of product/service cost structure;
- Periodic Review and reconciliation of accounts (payables, receivables, fixed assets capitalisation, write-offs)
- Manage of Accounting Software system for Company in line with internal procedures and ROK legislation
- Ensure safeguarding and archiving of accounting documents as per ROK legislation requirements;
- Compliance with the set rules inventories, fixed assets, settlements and payments obligations;
- Preparation of financial statements and reports required for internal and external purposes;
- Budgets, forecast, business plans, cost estimations in line with the company policies and procedures;
- Preparation of Work Program, Budget and Business Plan for further approval;
- Management of audits (Internal and external);
- Compliance with applicable legislation requirements (Tax, Statistical, National Banks, Investment Committee etc).
Qualifications & Experience:
The job holder must have:
- Higher education in finance or accounting.
- Minimum 5 years related experience in petroleum industry, including working knowledge of Kazakh tax law.
- Accounting Professional Certification in accordance with RoK legislation.
Required Competencies and Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written working knowledge of English
- Working knowledge of computerized accounting system
- Ability to liaise effectively with local and fiscal authorities
- Knowledge of general RoK appliable legislation
- Accuracy, Team leader skills
- Capability to work with PC, MS office programs.
Working Conditions:
Office based, 5/2 scheduled work with business trips around KZ and abroad, when required.
