About the job Integration Engineer
We’re hiring a highly technical Interface Developer to join our engineering team and take
The lead on healthcare data integrations. Your primary focus will be on building, maintaining,
and scaling HL7 pipelines using Mirth Connect across various healthcare systems and
third-party platforms.
If you’re confident working with HL7 v2. x, Mirth Connect, and designing secure, high-integrity
Data flows, this role is for you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Lead the design, development, and support of HL7 integrations across EMRs, PAS,
and external systems
Specialize in Mirth Connect: route, transform, validate, and monitor healthcare data
flows
Create robust data pipelines aligned with HL7 v2.x standards (FHIR is a plus)
Build and run automated mocks/tests for integration stability and reliability
Collaborate with internal teams and healthcare partners to gather integration
requirements
Maintain documentation for integration workflows, mappings, and configurations
Ensure secure data exchange using VPNs, SSL/TLS, and other encrypted channels
Build solutions aligned with HIPAA, ISO 27001, and healthcare compliance frameworks
Use Apache Camel (Java) and container tools like Docker to deploy and manage
Integrations.
What You Should Bring:
Deep hands-on experience with Mirth Connect in production environments
Strong working knowledge of HL7 messaging (v2. x) experience troubleshooting
real-world issues
Proficiency in JavaScript (used within Mirth scripts and transformations)
Exposure to FHIR, Apache Camel, and secure transport protocols
Familiarity with data formats (XML, JSON, CSV) and protocols (HTTP, TCP/IP, REST,
SOAP)
Strong understanding of network architecture, SSL certs, and VPN setup
Background in health IT, EHR/EMR systems, or systems integration in clinical settings
Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to communicate technical issues clearly
