About the job SR Electrical Engineer
Our client is a well-established MEP engineering firm with a strong portfolio of high-rise and commercial developments across Florida. As they continue to grow their St. Petersburg office, they are looking to add a licensed Electrical Engineer (PE) with proven experience designing electrical systems for large-scale vertical construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design of electrical systems (power, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage) for high-rise residential, mixed-use, hospitality, and commercial buildings

Produce detailed construction documents and specifications in compliance with NEC, Florida Building Code, and local jurisdiction requirements

Coordinate with architects, mechanical and plumbing engineers, contractors, and utility companies

Review shop drawings, conduct field visits, and support construction administration

Mentor junior electrical designers and support QA/QC of electrical deliverables

Collaborate with project managers to ensure budgets and schedules are met

Stay up to date on new technologies, energy codes, and sustainable design practices
Required Qualifications:

Active Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

6+ years of electrical design experience in the MEP consulting industry

Project experience in high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use buildings

Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and lighting calculation software (e.g., AGi32)

Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA codes, and Florida Building Code
Preferred Qualifications:

LEED accreditation or familiarity with sustainable building practices

Familiarity with Arc Flash and Short Circuit studies

Experience working with local utility companies in Florida
Compensation & Benefits:

Base salary of $120,000$170,000 depending on experience
